1 RAMADHAN, 1438H

My last post here was dated 8 May & that was a memorable day for me & the man in my life, celebrating our monthly milestone with nothing too extravagant but just dedicating a wish to celebrate the day our love began - or at least the date we decided on because honestly we have no idea when it started. I mean, does anyone know immediately or exactly when they find themselves catching feelings for someone? - because I realised that I don't actually have a clue. Anyways, 27 May marks the beginning of my all time favourite month in the year, Ramadhan. Alhamdulillah I am given the opportunity to welcome the month with my life filled to the brim with love, happiness & enough strength to go through tough times when I need it - of course with the right people that has always been there for me whenever, wherever. (you guys knows who you are) So 1st Ramadhan falls on a Saturday & Saturdays = Saturdates so as per usual, I spent the day with my favourite person. Since its the fasting period we opted for a place that's indoors cause we all know how humid & hot SG can be so we went to the National Gallery for their C H I L D R E N ' S B I E N N A L E exhibition & I LOVED IT SO MUCH OH MY GUCCI.
So my day started at 12 noon, the boy picked me up from home & we went straight to the museum cause we can't possibly go for lunch since we're fasting & we wna be home for break fast. When we reached, we honestly had no idea where to go so we just wandered around till we find an exhibit we didn't see the last time we were there & that landed us at the small room with ribbons tied everywhere. Each ribbon contains a wish/wishes that people wrote down & honestly some are so heartwarming. Syafiq & I each got our ribbons (purple for him & pink for me, not our usual colours but 'twas pretty). We took our time writing our wishes down & trying our hardest not to let each other see it till we're both done writing - I took longer cause I had to fill a longer piece of ribbon & my handwriting was smaller :') But I filled the ribbon up anyways and we both read what's on each other's ribbons.
"Went to the museum for the first time with the same girl I'm here with 32 months later."
"To the man that I love, here is to more museum dates with you & one day when we're married and blessed with mini versions of us, we'll bring them here"
Y'all can tell which is mine & which is his because it is so obvious haha! But that was what we each wrote & then we moved on to look for other exhibits only to realise that we didn't even "register" to get our admission tickets and stickers! HAHA! I mean it's free for us since we're singaporeans but we still need the admission sticker so we went to the ticketing counter to get it done. My inner kid decided that I should buy the $5 activity pack that comes with the stickers to paste in the white room (the one xavier lur mentioned in one of his tweets), activity cards & a kid sized lanyard you can wear + a rainbow pencil!! Love the rainbow pencils btw, loved it since young haha! So after we got the tickets & our stickers, we went to the next exhibit which was a room filled with huge balls that changes colours when you touch it & I was having so much fun touching balls while my cutie bf never stopped taking photos/boomerangs of me! Honestly he was snapping away the whole time. Wish I could post up at least one of the many nice boomerangs he took here but apparently they don't always play :( so a picture of me among the balls shall do.
The next exhibit was small & it was made of glass & mirrors to give the impression that you're high up. Love it though it was a small one because most parts of the exhibit gave the Harry Potter feels, specifically the scene in the wand shop or the books in the library - go pay the museum a visit & check out this exhibit, you'll get what I mean. Anyways, I am a major Harry Potter fan - don't fight me on this, Harry Potter is A M A Z I N G.
Just opposite the Harry Potter-ish exhibit is the room where people can go crazy with pasting colourful stickers anywhere in the room. I was having one hell of a time there you guys BUT I DIDN'T PASTE ANY STICKERS BECAUSE WE WERE TAKING TONS & TONS OF PICTURES - so we intend on returning again just to get better pictures & perhaps finally paste our stickers :) The first photo & the photo beside this text are taken in that room, pretty right the photos!! Makes for a good place to take lots of super pretty photos as long as you're willing to re-queue to re-enter many times if you're planning to get many shots.
Anyways, the good part about this exhibition is they only allow a certain number of people to enter each exhibit at any one time so it makes taking photos be easier and keeps your claustrophobia at bay - trust me, I know because I easily get claustrophobic. On top of that, they limit the time anyone can spend in the exhibit which helps with short waiting times at the queue and being able to experience the exhibit better but you can always re-queue to re-enter afterwards if you'd like.
So that was how I spent my 1st Ramadhan, with my favourite person, doing something we'd do once in awhile & enjoying the time spent together. For those of you who've not checked this exhibition out, please do, it runs till 8 Oct this year & its FREE!
